Born 1st April 1956 in Mazabuka, Zambia, Donald Clive Reeve came from a farming background. This is where his passion for the outdoors and wildlife started.
His interest in preserving all forms of animal life began after watching his brother skin and preserve birds. At the tender age of twelve he had successfully preserved his first bird and by the time he left school, his collection had grown to forty-five different species of bird.
Don studied his growing hobby at Harare Museum during school holidays. After leaving school, Don joined a Taxidermist where he studied for six months, before venturing into his own business. Don finally settled his company in Bulawayo where he has been trading as Matabeleland Taxidermist since 1991.
Don and his wife, Toy, have now expanded the company by opening another studio in Port Alfred, South Africa, trading as Wild Africa Taxidermy.

"The achievements of our company are reflected in the amount of Taxidermy products that leave our premises for destinations all around the world. Being naturally talented and a creative artist, I personally attend to each animal so as to maintain the high standard of craftmanship. Our only wish is that as each trophy leaves our studio, your visit to Africa will remain, not only in your mind, but you will now be able to see and touch it for years to come." Donald Reeve |
